Assembly during enrichment week

Hey, some of you guys have been texting me asking if assembly is compulsory to attend even if your activity starts in the late morning or the afternoon. Well, you guys will not have to attend assembly if your 1st activity for the day starts after 9am. I hope that cleared some things up, lets look forward to the coming months before out 1st year in NJIP ends.

kk.. so school's starting tmr.. enrichment week.. haha.. tmr we start at 2pm.. so i dun think we need to assemble in sch in the morning.. just be there by 2.. but i'm not sure where to meet.. oh yes.. pls wear FULL GREY.. according to the book.. dun blame me if the info is wrong.. haha..

the holidays

hey, i hope you guys have been resting well during the holidays, and also enjoying yourselves!!! haha, well, this is the point of time where i will post all the pics from the previous term, but as most of you know, my cam crashed, so i have been taking way less pics with my phone. sorry, well here it goes.

everyone was busy eating during the house session, but i have to admit it, we were pretty awesome on that day for being the only class with everyone wearing the house tee, hehe. the orange one-ders in the sea of grey

remember our cooling coffee experiment during physics? haha, it was fun, and stoning-friendly

when i said i have little pics to share, i really meant it, thats all, haha. sorry folks. will try to take more next term.

HOLIDAYSSSSS !

Before starting, i shall take a quote from a very famous person.

Nguyet Anh says:
it's so ironic. when they are busy with exams and assessments, the blog is updated so quickly. but when they have the whole holiday, it just dies

Oh the irony...
which is why I am going to post! ( actually it's just to move the 'good lucky studying' msg down)

SO...

here are some tips u can use to enjoy* the holidays!!!
*results may vary

1. Load yourself with Lots of homework to keep yourself occupied. (already done for us by the MA tutors)
2. Sleep 1/2 the day away so that u seem to be spending less time stoning.
3. Go out with friends.
4. Go overseas and Enjoy! yourselves like our foreign counterparts. ( afterall, it IS the holidays)
5. Overload yourself with CCA trainingsssss.... :(
6. and finally, take this holiday as an opportunity to...
FINISH YOUR CHINESE PROJECTS!!!

But most importantly, stay Happy!!!
And come back next term with a SMILE. =D

School matters + nice pictures(:

100th post! coolness. haha here are many things you have to take note in the following week:

1. Enrichment week

• if you're using edusave to pay for your various enrichment week activities, you have to use a separate form from the one designated for e-broadcast.



• if you're paying for all your optional e-week activities via edusave, you have to use separate forms. eg. activity A=$30; activity B= $25. you have to use 1 edusave form t0 pay $30 for activity A and yet another to pay $25 for activity B. this is because we are paying to different vendors for different activities so you cant lump the whole total sum into one edusave form. if you need more than one edusave form, pls go photocopy.this instruction is found on pg 2 point 4 of the orange enrichment week booklet.
  
• please make payment to general office on monday or tuesday
  
  

2. Lessons on monday and tuesday

• monday's GC period will be ms chan's MA1102 make-up lesson. please take note. all one-ders except acc math students are to be present for this make up



• we will have our GC lesson, blogging on tues duing homeroon instead. if we cant finish within homeroom period, we have to stay back for abt half an hour after school to finish up the lesson.



• those having TWM, i'm not sure about the arrangments. pls check with ms chan cos she might not have a TWM session (?)

3. IS1103

• just for your information, yesterday (friday 9th may) was mr lye's last day in school :( he has gone back to NIE.



• if you need personal consultation for bio, you have to appriach mrs fong



• geraldine, please collect pg 3 and 4 from mr lye's letter tray (outside 1st level staffroom) on monday and distribute to the class. its supposed to be the stack mr eng passed to us during math lecture. its correct; we dont have that 2 pages.

IS1103 Bio Test

hello everyone

IS1103 bio test details [not the assessment week one, its another small 5% test]
date: 7th may 2008
day: wednesday
venue: we might want to go to IS lab, in view of mr lye's [fractured] knee? he cant possible climb 4 flights of stairs in that. (those who have no idea whats going on about his leg, please read his blog. its found together with the other classes' links)
topic: everything on eye, including eye diseases

• i've given you the link to KM in a previous post; mr lye tagged on our class tagboard; i've mentioned it before, mr lye uploaded the ppt slides/ worksheets on his blog. pls go get them if you havent! or else you wont have anything to study for the eye diseases part.
• annnd, why on earth did the ________ group [i shant say your names explicitly but you should know that i'm referring to the 4 of you] NOT send their ppt to mr lye when i wrote the instructions BIG and CLEAR on the whiteboard one week ago? this affects the whole class!!! please be more considerate and obey instructions next time yea. thanks for your co-operation(:

Clarifications for College Day

Everyone i know this is very hastily planned, so sorry for everything.

• EVERYONE (except those involved in cca, which should be about 14 of us left) has to go down to school at 3pm today. mr eng says its compulsory and I will take attendance. if you are not present in school at 3 for no reason, you will face dire consequences...
• currently, we have to paint lignum banner, do walking advertisements' menu (x4) and other preparations for the stall.
• at 5pm, i think we dont have to go for the opening ceremony so everyone will continue to work on the preparations listed
• report in half grey: official lignum tee + school skirt/pants. if your official house tee isnt dry, then wear unofficial lignum tee/pe shirt.

delegation of work:

• banner painting: hazel (i/c), geraldine, sara, victoria, zhao pei, aditya, yida, jude. these ppl you might want to wear an old shirt, in case you dirty yourself. just dont dirty your official lignum tee
• walking ad's menu: charmaine (i/c), wenyi (i/c of walking ad ppl), chandel, taro, liang jie, amy, jingyi
• other stall preparations: charmaine (i/c) minh, quang, weng kin, wanying

College Day

Hello everyone! i have no idea what happened to the class blog. but, thanks to those who helped salvage it! and i manage to find my lost post back. the one on our remedials/events. anyway, here are the stuff you need to take note of for College Day later:

• Report at 3:00pm, at the store, which is at linkway (near our IFD bazaar stall); pleasebe punctual
• We have lots of preparations to do from 3-5pm. oh wait, the invitation says we have to be seated by 4:45, so we have 1 hr & 45 minutes to rush out our last minute preparations.
• We need to make the menus for the walking advertisements urgently!!! as we only have the little bit of time later, everyone please please be very co-operative and work, not slack!
• Everyone who has big, thick cardboard please please bring them to school later at 3pm! we desperately need cardboard to make the menu for the walking advertisements. actually any kind of cardboard is fine, just do your part and contribute to the class. that way we wont have to waste money buying cardboard. please msg charmaine how much cardboard & size you're bringing so that we have a rough gauge.
• All of you have to stay for at least part of the food fair. how you can contribute: buy lots of food with your parents (if they are here as well) and contribute to the profits for Lignum! you're also welcome to be our walking advertisements and get ppl to patronise our stall(:
• We need people to clean up i think. so if you can stay till after 8:30 (? not sure when it ends) please to!
• any questions, please tag on the class tagboard with your name, thanks!

Programme:

• 5pm: opening of ngee ann kongsi performing arts theatre

• 6pm: Food Fair
• there's a concert scheduled after food fair, but i'm not sure what time it is.

Yo 01. as the title said, i shall be a nice vice CT rep and post lots of stuff here for your convenience and as liang jie said "spoon-feed" you guys since "going to km is such a hassle and so confusing".

1. IS1103 BIOLOGY

• Regarding bio makeup lesson, mr lye is thinking of having it on thurs 8th may after school for only 1 period since we're quite on track. so try to keep that day free. i think he will discuss it with us during bio lesson tmr.

• Friday 9th May is mr lye's last day in school! :( its something like the end of his work attachment in nj; he's going back to NIE for school there (?) and graduation i think. after that he'll be posted to whichever school MOE posts him to. so we shall have a FAREWELL PARTY for mr lye yea? maybe together with bio makeup lesson on thurs. since he's been our bio teacher for the whole of this term. so if any of you need to ask questions on bio in week 9/before our bio test in assessment week, you have to ask mrs fong

2. Remedials/ Make-ups

• MA1102 (normal math): make up lesson on 9th may, friday, 4pm. this overrides cca unless you have competition. in the event you cant make it for valid reasons, please tell ms chan.
• IS1102B (chem): remedial on tue 3:40- 5:30
• IS1103 makeup on thurs 8th may (tentative, but we'll most probably need it)
  

3. Others

• Friday 2nd May: IH1104 Essay Test, 8:50-9:40am
• Saturday 3rd May: College Day
• Monday 5th May: College Day off-in-lieu (:
• Wednesday 7th May: Track & Field finals (pls support our 4x400m team: wenyi, daryl, amy and charmaine. we should be in finals right!)
• Mon 12th May: LA advertisement assignment due

Food Fair Matters

Hello! i'm not sure if you've seen the minutes of meeting i put up a few days ago. anyway, we have many things to finalise. people take time to read our posters so we have to get the design of the posters up asap. as you can see, there are many question marks / blanks in the tables, which means that there are many things to be confirmed. and we have limited days left to saturday! so jiayou everyone, dont slack and lets work hard together as a class and house to do our best for saturday's food fair ok(:

first mass event: lignum banner painting tmr, read hazel's post for details! according to hazel, its 1:20? oops, the relay sms said 3:40, no wonder, i was wondering why so lat when everyone dismiss at 1:20. anyway, you are strongly encoraged to com down to help. many hands make light work. so yes, you got the message, come down to help paint the banners, or render any other form of help lignum hat/ the food fair ICs need you to. there's much to prepare for saturday! haha ok i think i'm nagging too much. just to reward you for reading so many words and coming down tmr to help paint, i shall post pictures:
