CIP discussion EDITTED!!!!!!!! xD

JH401 Community Involvement Project (led by Daryl and Taro)

Possible Problems
Air-conditioners consume a lot of electricity
Many people leave the lights on after they have used the toilet
Toilets too brightly lit
Many computers in the com lab are on standby (main switches are not turned off)

Ways to identify possible problems
- Take multiple tours around the school at different times of the day to see which areas consume a lot of electricity
- Interview the OM to give us the breakdown for separate areas of the school
- Check the number and type of light-bulbs and fans in classes
- Interview/survey students and teachers to ask them which areas excessively consume electricity in their opinion

Places that consume the most electricity
1. General Office
2. Staffroom
3. Photocopy room
4. School at night (lights are not turned off)
5. Council Room

Research Ideas
Set up Communications Committee to find out which schools have very low electricity consumption rate so that we can tour them and see how they achieve such a feat.

Rough Timeline
Now: Week 4
Week 4: Come up with interview and survey questions
Week 5: Start touring the school (refer to identifying problems)
Survey and Interview to find out how the school feels (interview with OM)
Communications team to contact NEA to find out which schools consume minimal amounts of electricity, followed by a possible touring of these particular schools
Week 6: Collate results of findings from week 6 (transcribe interviews, write reflections)
Week 7: Identify underlying problems and challenges and the solutions that can be done.
Week 8: Scrapbooking and completing project
Finish by Week 9
