National Day Celebrations

Hey everyone, this is regarding the NDC coming up. I don't really want to force you guys, but I really need 5 people! D:

Free Periods

Please note that there WILL NOT be IH 1103 lecture this fridy, 18th July 2008, at 2:50-3:40pm. It is a free period so do not go to the LT for lecture. As of now, we have 4 FREE periods:

• IS1105 10:00-10:50am [do the homework ms kavi gave us, if not, revise other subjects' stuff. i think we're not allowed to have extended break]
• LA 1102 12:20-1:10pm [we have to watch the movie right]
• HCL lecture 1:10-2:00pm [according to the module outlines, there isnt a lecture scheduled this fri]
• IH 1103 lecture 2:50-3:40pm

and if i'm not wrong, there isnt HCL lecture either too. whoots(: so friday isnt such a long day after all :D if you want, i can try asking ms soon & mr eng if we can push GC up to an earlier period so that we can go home earlier ok!

A different form of PE

SWIMMING PE starts this friday! arent you'all excited? especially those who dont know swimming, you'll get to learn a new skill! besides, swimming is a very useful skill. imagine you are in the sea without a life jacket and you suddenly capsize from your boat or something, you can SWIM to survival! haha at least it's more useful than e-broadcast. i mean, e-broadcast is also useful but not everyone will do jobs related to music in future right. swimming's a universal skill. i dunno how you feel. anyway, i've copied the info posted on KM and pasted it here, cos i know some of you are too lazy to check KM/cant access it/cant find it:

08IP Swim PE Lessons starting 16th July 2008

Starting this week, the 08IP classes will be reporting directly to the SPE Swimming Pool for their PE lessons in the morning of Wednesday (for 08IP04, 08IP05, 08IP06) or Friday (for 08IP1,08IP02, 08IP03). Attendance will be taken at the pool. A chartered bus will bring the classes back to college by 940am after the swim lesson.

This is a 10 week swim course. Attached is the information letter of which has been passed to the 08IP classes. Please refer to this information letter for more details including calender of the swim lessons.

Please note the following:

(1) The venue for the lessons will be the School of Physical Education Swimming Complex (Bukit Timah) (Map attached). Students are to be ready in their swimming attire and report to the teachers-in-charge at the pool by 7.45am for attendance taking.

(2) The lesson duration will be an hour, from 8.00am to 9.00am. Thereafter, transport will be provided back to College by 9:40am for the next lesson.

(3) All students who are medically exempted from swimming by a doctor will report to the teachers at the pool for non-water-based PE lesson.

(4) In the case of inclement weather, attendance will still be taken at the pool.

Looking for CIP hours?

R-Cube is a yearly event organized by NJ students as a charity run. This year it'll be held on the 10th of August 2008, meaning there's till 9th Aug to sell tickets. It begins on the 20th July, and its once a week. 9 hours CIP will be awarded if you attend all 3 weekly sessions of street sales. Sign up/clarify anything you want to with Nurul. I 'll try my best to help.

hello 01!

hope first day of official lessons was good for all of you. anyway, i have some important announcements

1. Friday's lesson schedule
- 1st period: miss ong wants us to do an ungraded pre-couse quiz. it will last for 30 mins. i think she will meet us in class. for the rest of the time, mr eng wants to see some of the students he mentioned earlier regarding math.
- 2nd period: mr lye will be coming in for lesson as he will be away at NIE tomorrow (thursday). this means that we will miss a double lesson tmr. he will be teaching tmr,so means no time for group discussion i think.

2. Mr Lye's bio lesson
- to those who thought that tmr's bio lesson would be free period, i'm sorry to burst your bubble. he has left work for us on his blog (its linked to our class blog). go take a look if you wish. i will be assigning the groups and topics to everyone. (if you have no idea what i'm talking abt, go to mr lye's blog. i will also brief you all tmr)

others:
- now that school has re-opened, pls check our class blog more often for notices put up by nurul/liang jie/me or any other one-der. i know that the blog was rather dead during the hols, but it should be more active with reminders etc now, just like the old times(:
- to those who are supposed to re-send the relay messages back to nurul or myself, please do so! i realised that the ppl in my row are slacking recently! relay messages are important so nurul and i have to ensure that everyone has received the messages. thanks a lot for your co-operation.
- sign your PTM form and indicate which teachers you want to see/ which timeslot. nurul and liangjie have mentioned this before.
- those who havent submitted your enrichment week survey (only a few left), please do so to me by homeroom tmr. i understand that those who werent around during caal today havent received the surveys yet, ms soon will pass them to you to do tmr. pls submit them to me thereafter, thanks
- bring thermometers- to assembly tomorrow! and on friday too.
- okay, the latest that any of us will post important messages on the blog will be 10pm okay? sorry to those who sleep even before 10, but if you can, check the blog slightly after 10 to get the latest updates. this is because sometimes we post stuff about the following day's school, so yup, it'll be important for you to read.
