Eugenie's Birthday Celebration

Yesterday (14th March 2008) we came together to celebrate our dear Welfare rep's birthday (16th March 2008). We had loads of fun!!! But for those who were not able to make it, we documented the outing by taking some pictures.

Meeting Debrief

Hey, the turn up for the class meeting on monday was not encouraging nor disappointing. Anyway, for those who came, thank you.

1)What are we going to do?

Compilation of pictures and videos of different niches and fields in NJC.

2)How are we going to do it?
From now onwards to Tuesday when school re-opens, each of you (except those editing) would have to take pictures and compile pictures of different areas of speciality in NJC. or the things you find unique in NJC.

Sports- Nurul, Wan Ying, Taro, Zhao Pei, Sara, Aditya
you can like take pictures of people playing soccer or rock climbing or something (MUST BE NJCIANs carrying out those activities)

Arts- Charmaine, Eugenie, Amy, Chandel, Wen Yi, Qian Yun,
You can take picture and videos of the Western Dancers, please do ask for their permission first.

Academics and Acheivements- Loo Liang Jie, Daryl Lee, Victoria, Yida, Minh, On Jing Yi
You can take pictures of people muggin/pretending to mug, all the trophies that we have attained as a school. etc.

Random- Hazel Goh, Audie, Geraldine, Jude, Quang and Weng kin
Take pictures of people having fun, crapping and all those stuff. But you guys don't have to worry. The class comm member in you group is the queen of randomness.

3)Who are we going to involve?

All of you guys, plus other people if you permit it.

4)What are the equipments needed?

Digital cameras/Camcorders. Do not use camera phone unless you're phone is like some cybershot thingy or somethign. If you do not have, please borrow from your classmates/family members. Each person have to submit a compilation of at least 10 pictures (diversified) to their respective group ics Tuesday, 6pm via email. Group ics are expected to send me those stuff via email to me and Audie by Tuesday, 10pm

5)What is the budget for the video?

I find no point spending unless it is really really necessary. In that case, please approach our class treasurer, Audie, and ask for permission. When you are granted of her valuable permission, you can spend a maximum of $10 for each group. But you are STRONGLY encouraged NOT to spend.

6)Timeline for the project

Photos in by Tuesday, editing starts on Wednesday, submission on Friday (all this in next week)

We have a huge problem, it turns out that $15 is not enough. Me, Hazel, Audie and Daryl ahve spent alot of effort trying to find a cheaper one but somehow, all the shops we went to, which are believed to be cheap, demanded for a minimum of $20. We are still trying.

NJC A Level Examinations Results 2007

We have done well again!

IP Preview U-tube Challenge

We have another project and I believe that I have elaborated on it yesterday during the meeting at the atrium after the test. For those who were not present without a valid reason, tsk tsk tsk. hehe.

Objective of the project: To promote the Integrated Programme IN NATIONAL JUNIOR COLLEGE to your younger friends and juniors who are wondering if they should join NJIP. (I have put "in Njc" in caps as the objective is to encourage them to enter NJIP, not other Integrated Programme instituitions, okie?)

Every ip1 class is to submit at least one video clip to advertise for the NJC IP preview 2008.

The video should bring out the theme: The Njc Experience, Embrace the extraordinary

Details to be included in the video: 19 April 2008 (Saturday) , 9am-3pm, at NJC.

The length of the video should be between 1-3 minutes long. And if we are chosen, we will win prizes!!! yay!!!

Due: 24 March 2008 (Monday) 5pm

Target: 21 March 2007 (Friday)

Submissions should be in form of CD-R. Please call me at 96574520 if you need any clarifications.

You can either do this as a class effort or in your own groups. So for those who would like to form their own groups, you can do so, but you would have to come up with a video on your own. For those who are doing it with the class, your first ic would be me, and your second ic would be our secretary (Liang Jie), since Charmaine will not be in Singapore.

So, here is the important part.

Report to school on Monday at 8am (tentative timing) for a short meeting regarding this project. Everyone who is going not going to create their own groups would have to some for the meeting unless they have a valid reason such as going back to their hometown, going to another country, have cca training etc. Please do tell me if you are coming or not by Sunday 6pm. Swimming Carnival

Hello everyone!

This is regarding the swimming carnival. I decided to post details about it up here because you can still sign up with me if you want to swim, after the march holidays, although you should seriously give me your names by tomorrow (Friday 7th March).

Date: 26th March 2008
Time: We're dismissed at 11:10, gather at parade square at 11:50, actual swimming carnival is from 1- 4:30pm.
Venue: Bishan Swimming Complex
Money: everyone has to pay $1 for transportation and admission purposes.
Attire: wear nj pe attire over swimming costume if you're swimming
* Note: You will be excused from all lessons after 11:10 and CCAs.

so basically there are 2 events you can sign up for: individual and team events

1. Individual:

• there's 50m freestyle & 50m breaststroke for both boys and girls
• minimum of 2 swimmers per event

2. Team:

• each class must send in 1 team to compete in the team events
• 4 people, 1 reserve
• max. 2 boys
• the team must participate in all events: 4 games- Against Resistance, Captain's Ball, Charades & When 2 becomes 1 as well as the Relay event.
• Substitution of the reserve team member is allowed uder any circumstance

A participant may participate in EITHER individual events OR team events, not both.

There's attractive prizes and a class trophy to be won!

Ok, to register:

• Individual: give me your names and mobile numbers
• Team: name, NRIC, register number, contact number(s), email and male/female (including the reserve)

HELLO!

there is a IP1 International Friendship Day Bazaar Stall Competition! :O we need everyone to work together AS A CLASS, okay? we are supposed to do our stall based on a particular country. the country was picked by the House Caps if i'm not wrong. guess what country Joshua picked. we got, INDIA! :D here's the rough outline of what we need to do.

Each class must set up a stall at the bazaar (near the canteen round tables). The stall must feature food/drinks and game from the country assigned to your house. Any costs incurred shall be borne by the class. In return, any profits made from the sale of food/drinks (but not from the game) can be kept by the class.

As there is just one IP1 class in every house, your class will represent your house in the inter-house bazaar stall competition, which will take place on 31 March 2008 (Mon), from 11.20am to 2.20pm. Your stall's food/drinks and game MUST originate from this country (India).

Food/Drinks Section;
State what items we are buying, the unit price, quantity required and total cost price. We have to provide image(s) of item(s) on sale, indicate selling price per item, set reasonable sales target and describe any marketing strategy that your stall is using.

Games Section;
State what items we are buying, the unit price, quantity required and total cost price. We have to provide image(s) of game, set the rules of the game, and describe any marketing strategy that your stall is using.
NOTE;
The game should
- cost $0.20 per play (to be collected in a sealed container)
- just require 1 person to play
- only have 2 possible outcomes (win or lose)
- allow the player to win or lose within 2 mins
- award only 1 sticker to each player who wins
House whose game earns the highest amount of money (n x $0.20) ; 20 points
House whose game earns the second highest amount of money (n x $0.20) ; 10 points
Every bazaar stall will be given 200 stickers to start with. Players who won the game get to paste their stickers under their house on the bazaar scoreboard.
House with the highest number of stickers on the bazaar scoreboard ; 10 points
House with the second highest number of stickers on the bazaar scoreboard ; 5 points

Stall Design;
House with the best bazaar stall design ; 10 points

Students on duty for the first/last slot are to set up/clear the stall.
